Privacy Policy
Your privacy, in plain English.

Why Dachshunds (“we,” “us,” “I”) is a channel and website for dachshund parents. We keep this simple and we don’t sell your information. Here’s exactly what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Your email address — only when you choose to sign up for the free Dachshund Behavior Decoder or our emails.
- Basic usage data — like which pages are visited and roughly where traffic comes from, so we know what’s actually helpful. This may use cookies (see below).
- Anything you send us — for example, if you email or use our contact form.
How we use it
- To send you the free Decoder and the emails you signed up for.
- To improve the site and create content that helps doxie parents.
- To reply when you reach out.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Who helps us run this
We use a few trusted service providers to operate the site and send email. They only process your information to provide their service to us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Supabase — our database and hosting provider, where your email address and any message you send us are securely stored.
- Resend — our email delivery service, used to send you the free Decoder and the emails you signed up for.
- Stripe — our payment processor, if you buy something from us (like the Long-Back Safety Kit). Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we receive your email address and name so we can deliver your purchase.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to remember you and understand what’s working. When you first visit, you can choose “Essential only” to limit non-essential cookies. You can also clear cookies any time in your browser settings.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time — every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- See, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you — just email us and we’ll take care of it.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
YouTube API Services
We use an internal tool that publishes our own videos to our own YouTube channel through the official YouTube API Services. By using it, we agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
That tool signs in with a Google account we own and is used only to upload and schedule our own content. We do not collect, store, or share any Google or YouTube account data belonging to visitors of this website. Google’s handling of any information accessed through its APIs is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
We can revoke this tool’s access to our Google account at any time from the Google security settings page.
A note on health content
Everything here is educational and reflects one owner’s experience — it is not veterinary advice. Always defer to your own vet on your individual dog.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be made clear on this page.
